Mark van der Veen MMIT is Data Architect at NN Group and has been working there since 2000. He designs and supports organizations from a holistich vision to generate Business benefits. Because he has held several positions within the company he is an able spokesman to all the roles in an organization. Both from the operational level and the strategic level.
Since 2010 he has been responsible for delivering data driven implementations for practical organizational issues. Ranging from Data Quality Issues, Product migrations and new legislation. Examples of these implementations are a Data warehouse environment, an organization wide Quality Control Register and a Process and Data driven migration approach with supporting IT. Mark has also been the driving force behind the NN Life Data Governance (2017) and Data Strategy & Governance voor NN Non-life (2021).
Next to his role as Architect with NN Group Mark is also freelancer with his company Comprehension. He develops courses for Universities of Applied Sciences and inspirational sessions for companies in relation to innovations. He is also a registered CRKBO teacher and teaches several courses at the University of Applied Sciences in Utrecht (Business Intelligence & Information – Process management).
Within DAMA-NL he is responsible for Education. In this role his purpose is to share the DMBOKv2 and further expanding the knowledgde by the workgroups that are in place. In march 2021 these efforts have led to the first Data Management course at a University of Applied Sciences: Data management & BI in Utrecht. This course will be available for students as of september 2021. Similar ventures are being discussed with the Universities of Applied Sciences in The Hague, Leiden and Rotterdam.
