Harm van der Lek is an experienced designer. His specialization is modelling, especially in the area of Business Intelligence. From information analysis and modelling to architecture and database design to implementation.
He has built his reputation from 1984 from a mathematical background through projects, lectures and international publications in the field of databases, information modelling and data warehousing. He has established himself as an independent consultant and teacher since 1999.
Throughout his career he educated more than 1500 designers through his course on dimensional modelling. Furthermore, he has written several practical as well as scientific publications and is co-author of the book “Volledig communicatie georiënteerde informatiemodellering”. This book is used by many universities and other higher educations in The Netherlands.
Van der Lek is a highly appreciated speaker in many countries and is known for his ability to present complicated materials in a clear manner that makes it easier to understand. He was one of the speakers at a previous edition of our yearly conference, the Data Warehousing & Business Intelligence Summit.
